This is something from Eben… Yes I am a great fan of Eben Pagen. He said that there are so many things you can do online, such as eBay, List Building, Affiliate marketing, Adwords, Adsense, SEO, and so many more.
But you can’t do them all and become successful. It just is not possible!
Not every method out there is suited to your character and skills. For example, Adsense is favored by people who don’t have much capital but do have patience and time to create a content site that pleases their target market.
So if you are not patient and can’t write for two cents then Adsense is not for you. The problem is, every time an Adsense product comes out, you are coaxed into believing that anyone can do it.
Technically, a guru can make it because they hire experts in Adsense to handle the work for them. They hire copywriters to create content for them. But people who are trying to make some initial income from IM they need to choose their first steps wisely before they can hire others to do the these jobs.
Choose something where your strength lies. If you are good in customer relations, you’d want to look into building a list so that you can have a customer base for you to build good relationships with.
Knowing where your strength and weaknesses are is important, and if you are not sure, just call your best friend or your other half and ask them.
They should be able to tell you. When you know what your strengths are then you’d be able to choose your first step.
There’s a Chinese saying that goes something like this…
“A good start means you are half way to success.”
If you choose something that is not suitable for you, you’ll find yourself struggling to get ahead of the pack and you’ll soon give up really quickly.
So what do you do after you found an internet business model that suits you? You focus on the basics. You train on the fundamentals. Do it over and over again; like the way a martial artist trains.
You’ll soon realize what works and what doesn’t. The experience and knowledge gathered will soon shape your success. But the important part here is not to give up easily.
Far too many of us failed early in Internet Marketing because we discard current projects for some other new products too often. I was one of them.
When I first started, I was distracted very easily by all the noise and launches and I jumped from one product to another but I never really had time to focus and act on any of the methods I learned. Something I read in the Warrior Forum today goes like this: The 'next best thing' is the enemy of the last best thing. If you keep jumping around you'll never master anything.
Furthermore, there were countless times when I was distracted by wacky ideas that popped up suddenly in my head in the middle of the night. I now come to realize I had to mentally block all these ideas from flowing in just so I can concentrate on getting the important stuff done.
Therefore it is vital for you stop buying any more products if you’ve just recently bought one. You must also try to ignore all the ideas racing through your head so that you can concentrate and get your initial plans rolling ASAP.
The important lesson here is this. Focus on some of the simple stuff that works even if it’s boring. For example, if you have to create 15 content pages to rank high in Google then do it.
If you have to repeat that process over and over for another 50 times then do it. If you find yourself feeling lazy, unmotivated, and bored because of the amount of work, find a way to inspire yourself or get someone else to do the boring stuff for you.
“Manage your time, manage yourself mentally… you’ll soon find yourself on the shortcut to success.”
